Hatsukaze

Hatsukaze (はつかぜ) is a character in the game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん), also known as "KanColle". She is a personification of the seventh ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy's Kagerō-class destroyer, the Hatsukaze. Known for her rarity and difficulty to obtain in the game, she was initially nicknamed "Tsuchinoko". Hatsukaze is characterized by her light blue semi-long hair, jade-colored eyes, and a somewhat cold and unfriendly personality. She was difficult to obtain in the early days of the game, typically only dropped as a victory reward at the boss node of World 3-4, making her a highly sought-after ship for many players. She's also a member of the 16th Destroyer Division, fighting alongside other Kagerō-class destroyers such as Yukikaze, Amatsukaze, and Tokitsukaze. Her lines and actions often express her fear of the heavy cruiser Myōkō, due to her real-life history of colliding with Myōkō and sinking in the Battle of Bougainville. Furthermore, Hatsukaze received a limited-time Christmas skin in 2015, which presented her cute side, contrasting her usual cold demeanor, along with an increase of her drop rate during this event. Despite being seen as an average-performing destroyer at first, her rarity and unique personality make her popular among players.
