I-401

I-401 is a character in the game *Kantai Collection* (KanColle), a personification of the second ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy's I-400-class submarines. She's often called "Shioi". I-401 is designed by the artist Shibafu and voiced by Mariya Ise. In the game, she's a submarine aircraft carrier (SSV) with high durability and armor, capable of equipping the Seiran seaplane bomber. She has an innocent and somewhat childish personality, often saying things like "O-furo ni dobon!" (I'm gonna go take a bath!). I-401 was initially implemented as an event reward, and can later be obtained through large ship construction. Her design and lines reflect the characteristics of her historical counterpart, such as its long range and ability to carry Seiran aircraft. She has ties with Iona from *Arpeggio of Blue Steel* due to both being based on the I-401 submarine. Her upgraded form, I-401 Kai, brings the "Prototype Seiran". In gameplay, she excels at torpedo attacks, is strong in night battles, and has high luck.
