Amatsukaze

Amatsukaze (天津風, あまつかぜ) is a character from the video game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん/KanColle), a Japanese browser game that anthropomorphizes World War II-era warships as girls. She is based on the Imperial Japanese Navy's Kagerō-class destroyer, the ninth ship of her class. Amatsukaze is characterized by her long silver hair tied in twin-tails with red-striped windsock-like hair tubes, and a distinctive smokestack-style hat. In the game, she's depicted as a prototype for next-generation destroyers, equipped with a high-temperature, high-pressure boiler that was later used in the development of Shimakaze. She has a somewhat assertive and slightly tsundere personality, but is kind-hearted and cares deeply about her friends and her admiral. Her catchphrase is "Is a nice breeze coming?" (いい風きてる？), frequently referencing the wind. She is known for her short black buttoned sailor dress with white stripes, her black stockings, and her unique ship rigging, which includes a "Rensouhou-kun" (turret-kun) at the bow. Amatsukaze has multiple forms in the game including base, Kai, and Kai Ni, each with distinct artwork and stats, with the Kai Ni version featuring enhanced combat capabilities and a new illustration.
