Taigei

Taigei (大鯨, たいげい) is a Kanmusu (ship girl) character featured in the game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん, KanColle), based on the Imperial Japanese Navy's submarine tender, Taigei. In the game, Taigei is depicted as a cute girl wearing an apron with a whale motif. She has a gentle and polite personality but is anxious in combat. As a submarine tender, Taigei's main role is to provide supplies and support to the submarine fleet. She can carry reconnaissance floatplanes, but does not have strong combat capabilities herself. Later in the game, Taigei can be remodeled into the light aircraft carrier Ryuuhou (龍鳳), becoming a more combat-capable unit. Her unique dual identity has made her a popular character among players. Taigei is voiced by Yui Ogura, whose adorable voice further enhances the character's appeal. Overall, Taigei is a unique Kanmusu with both submarine tender and light carrier roles, cherished by many players for her transformation and versatility.
