Unryuu

Unryuu (雲龍, also written as Unryuu, うんりゅう) is a character in the online browser game *Kantai Collection* (艦隊これくしょん, KanColle). She is the lead ship of the Unryuu-class aircraft carriers, modeled after the historical Japanese aircraft carrier *Unryū* of World War II. Designed by artist Kuurokuro and voiced by Ayako Kawasumi, Unryuu is portrayed as a gentle, somewhat melancholic girl with long silver hair and green-accented attire. Her design incorporates dragon and cloud motifs, reflecting her name which translates to 'cloud dragon'. In-game, Unryuu has relatively low initial aircraft-carrying capacity but improves dramatically after remodeling and can obtain the important 'Skilled Carrier-Based Aircraft Maintenance Personnel' through quests. Her character and backstory encapsulate the tragic fate of her historical counterpart, built hastily during the war but not having a chance to fully contribute, making her a popular character within the game. She is obtainable through various methods, including event maps and drops in regular areas.
