Asagumo

Asagumo (朝雲, あさぐも) is a ship girl character in the game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん, KanColle), based on the Japanese Imperial Navy's Asashio-class destroyer, the fifth ship Asagumo. In the game, she appears with long chestnut-colored twintails tied with blue and white ribbons, with a somewhat tsundere (initially cold and aloof but later showing affection) personality, high self-esteem, but is actually very caring. She is close friends with Yamagumo, who is also from the 9th Destroyer Division, and refers to the admiral as "Commander." Asagumo is a member of the Asashio-class destroyers in the game, possessing high torpedo, anti-submarine warfare (ASW), and evasion capabilities, making her suitable for night battles. Her voice actress (CV) is Yui Horie, who has voiced many famous characters. Historically, Asagumo participated in several important battles and was ultimately sunk in the Battle of Surigao Strait. The in-game Asagumo also carries historical echoes, often calling herself the "9th Destroyer Division" and showing special care towards Yamagumo. Besides the game, Asagumo has also appeared in spin-offs like anime and manga, making her a popular character in "Kantai Collection."
