Yamagumo (やまぐも) is a character in the game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん, KanColle), she is the sixth ship of the Asashio-class destroyer. In the game, Yamagumo is beloved by players for her cute appearance and slightly spacey personality. She wears a short-sleeved white shirt, arm warmers, bike shorts under a skirt with suspenders and black knee-high socks. Her equipment consists of a twin-gun turret, a quad torpedo launcher, and a randoseru-shaped structure that holds her rigging. Yamagumo has gray hair, held in a ponytail with a hairband and secured with a green hair tie. After remodeling, she gains a radar-shaped hairpin, and her hair tie is moved higher up her hair. Historically, she participated in various battles, including the Philippines campaign and the Battle of Leyte Gulf, before ultimately sinking in the Battle of Surigao Strait. In-game, Yamagumo's lines and hourly notifications also showcase her unique personality and her attachment to her fellow ship, Asagumo.
