Takanami

Takanami is a destroyer kanmusu (ship girl) in the game *Kantai Collection* (KanColle), belonging to the Yuugumo-class. She's known for her gentle, insecure personality and her verbal tic, "kamo" (maybe). Takanami is often depicted with duck imagery due to the homophone "kamo" also meaning "duck" in Japanese. She is a member of the Thirty-First Destroyer Division and played a key role in the Battle of Lunga Point. Her lines and actions demonstrate a humble and hesitant character, while simultaneously showing her sense of duty and determination as a kanmusu. Takanami was first implemented in the Spring 2015 event and received her Kai Ni form in 2021. Her Kai Ni form significantly improves her stats and equips her with stronger armaments. She is one of the few kanmusu in the game that can be used as an auxiliary ship to mass-produce equipment. The combination of her historical background, equipment, and personality makes her a popular character among players.
