Iowa

Iowa (アイオワ) is a character from the game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん, abbreviated as KanColle). She is a personification of the lead ship of the US Navy's Iowa-class battleships, USS Iowa (BB-61). In the game, Iowa is portrayed as a Fast Battleship (FBB), boasting high firepower and speed. She is characterized by her blonde hair, blue eyes, well-endowed figure, and American accent, with an outgoing and lively personality who often mixes English into her Japanese speech. Her outfit incorporates elements of the US Navy, such as the Stars and Stripes and the US emblem. Iowa's introduction marks the first time an Allied ship has been included in the game, bringing a cultural impact to other in-game characters, yet her friendly and positive attitude helps her get along well with the Japanese fleet girls. Her character design was inspired by US warplane nose art from World War II, giving her a distinctive American feel. In the game, Iowa can enhance her fighting ability through leveling and remodeling and can equip various weapons and gear. Her addition has added new content and challenges to the game and has made her very popular with players.
