Kawakaze

Kawakaze (かわかぜ) is a character in the game "Kantai Collection" (KanColle). She is the ninth ship of the Shiratsuyu-class destroyers, also considered the third ship of the modified Shiratsuyu-class (Umikaze-class). Kawakaze is designed by artist Kujou Ichiso and voiced by Shizuka Ishigami. Her distinctive features include vibrant long red hair tied into low twintails with red ribbons, blue-green eyes, and unique pointy ears. She wears a sleeveless shirt with black and white contrasts, exposing her navel, along with a blue neckerchief and black fingerless gloves, a black pleated skirt, and black thigh-highs. Kawakaze's personality is tomboyish, energetic, and belligerent, but she occasionally shows a childish side. In the game, she can undergo two remodels, Kawakaze Kai and Kawakaze Kai Ni, each bringing changes to her stats and appearance. Kawakaze has many voice lines in the game, including hourly notifications, seasonal lines, and special event lines, all reflecting her unique personality. She has close relationships with other Shiratsuyu-class destroyers like Umikaze and also interacts with other characters like Sendai. Outside of the game, Kawakaze has numerous fan works, and there are special phenomena associated with her in-game, like her making the sound "maroon" when damaged and her special event illustrations.
