Ark Royal

Ark Royal is a character in the Japanese game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん, also known as KanColle), inspired by the British Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal (91). She is portrayed as a regular aircraft carrier in the game, and was introduced on August 12, 2017, as a reward for the E-7 area in the summer event. Ark Royal is depicted as a young woman with short red hair and blue eyes, wearing a white corset and jacket with a white skirt. She often uses English phrases in her dialogue and expresses a strong fear of torpedoes and submarines. Historically, Ark Royal is renowned for her role in the sinking of the German battleship Bismarck, with her Fairey Swordfish torpedo planes inflicting a critical blow to Bismarck's rudder. In the game, she can conduct night aerial attacks using Swordfish aircraft. Compared to other fleet girls, she is known for her unique night battle capabilities and her fondness for Swordfish aircraft. While her base stats aren't top-tier, her special night battle abilities make her a reliable force in the fleet, particularly on maps that require night combat. Her personality is serious, diligent, and somewhat airheaded, and she has a unique interaction with her historical rival, Bismarck.
