Shimushu

Shimushu (しむしゅ) is a Kanmusu (ship girl) from the game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん, KanColle), classified as a Coastal Defense Ship. She is the lead ship of the Shimushu-class, named after the island of Shumshu, located on the easternmost end of the Kuril Islands. In the game, Shimushu is well-loved by players for her unique speech patterns ending in "ssu" and "sshu", her cheerful personality, and her adorable appearance. She proclaims herself to be a coastal defense expert, responsible for protecting fisheries and fishermen in peacetime, and actively participating in convoy escort and anti-submarine patrols during wartime. Shimushu is depicted with short, light ivory-colored hair, an antenna on her head, and a dark green sailor uniform designed for cold weather. She carries a unique small rig, equipped with 12cm single guns and 25mm twin machine guns. Her signature pose is to place her hands on her forehead as if she's looking far into the distance while raising one leg. Despite claiming to be named after the “northernmost of the Kuril Islands”, Shumshu is actually located at the easternmost part of the archipelago. After World War II, Shimushu was transferred to the Soviet Union as reparations and renamed EK-31. Due to her unique status and experience, many players hope for her future "Kai Ni" (second remodel) form.
