Kasuga Maru

Kasuga Maru is a character in the online game "Kantai Collection" (KanColle), based on the Japanese passenger-cargo ship Kasuga Maru, which was later converted into an auxiliary aircraft carrier. In the game, she first appears as an auxiliary aircraft carrier and can be upgraded to the light aircraft carrier Taiyo. Kasuga Maru is depicted as a girl wearing a kimono, showcasing traditional Japanese femininity. She carries a Type 96 carrier fighter, giving her the appearance of a falconer. Kasuga Maru's remodeling requires the special item "Prototype Flight Deck Catapult," and after remodeling, she gains improved anti-submarine warfare capabilities. Her dialogue reflects her unique status as an auxiliary carrier and her fear of submarines at night. Although her historical record is not significant, in the game, she can become powerful through remodeling and play an important role in escort fleets.
