Kishinami (岸波, きしなみ) is a Kanmusu character in the game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん, KanColle). She is the 15th ship of the Yūgumo-class destroyers, known for her calm, resolute personality and low voice. In the game, Kishinami is portrayed as a serious and responsible girl who, despite her seemingly cool exterior, deeply cares about her comrades. She charges forward bravely in battle, not backing down even when wounded, demonstrating a strong will. Her official art typically depicts her wearing a purple sleeveless dress over a white shirt, a blue bowtie, gray pantyhose, and lace-up boots. Historically, Kishinami was a Yūgumo-class destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy in World War II. She was completed in December 1943 and mainly assisted in escorting troop convoys. She notably participated in the sinking of the USS Trout and rescued Admiral Kurita at Leyte Gulf. Unfortunately, she was sunk by the USS Flasher one year and a day after her completion. In "Kantai Collection," Kishinami's historical background influences her character design and personality.
