Hayanami

Hayanami is a ship girl (kanmusu) appearing in the game Kantai Collection (KanColle). She is the 12th ship of the Yuugumo-class destroyers. Designed by artist Fujikawa and voiced by Yumi Tanibe, Hayanami is depicted as a young girl with short purple hair that fades to grey at the tips, tied in a ponytail with a white ribbon. She wears a school uniform with a purple pleated skirt, a blue bow tie, and grey knee-high socks. Hayanami is known for her slightly childish manner and her extreme attachment to her older sister Fujinami. She shares a completion date with Fujinami, leading to similar appearances with slight differences in hairstyle and eye shape. She is primarily obtained through event drops or specific map encounters in the game. Hayanami is notable for her high anti-submarine warfare and search capabilities. Although historically she saw no combat, she was sunk by a US submarine while on anti-submarine patrol. In her lines, Hayanami frequently mentions her “older sister” Fujinami, showing her reliance and fondness. Though a bit childish, Hayanami remains a diligent destroyer girl in the game.
