Matsuwa

Matsuwa (松輪, まつわ) is a character in the game *Kantai Collection* (KanColle), belonging to the Etorofu-class coastal defense ship as the second ship. She was designed by Akasaka Yuzu and voiced by Shutou Yukina. Matsuwa is an introverted and insecure character, heavily relying on her older sister, Etorofu. In the game, she's a weak coastal defense ship specializing in anti-submarine warfare (ASW), with a reduced ASW score requirement for performing opening ASW attacks. Matsuwa's lines often mention her sister, Etorofu, and reveal her fear of submarines. She accepted the saury made by Isokaze, stating that it was delicious despite being a bit bitter, suggesting she has a strong stomach. When used in modernization, Matsuwa can increase the ASW stat and Luck of other ships, and when used with her sister ship Etorofu, she will also increase a ship's HP. Historically, Matsuwa served as a convoy escort, but was sunk by a U.S. submarine in 1944. In the game, Matsuwa has various limited-time appearances, such as a yukata and Christmas costumes.
