Hachijou

Hachijou (はちじょう), also known as Hachijō, is a Kanmusu character from the game *Kantai Collection* (艦隊これくしょん -艦これ-, KanColle). She belongs to the Shimushu-class coastal defense ship and her identification number is 384. In the game, Hachijou is a rare coastal defense ship, not obtainable through construction, usually only dropping in event maps. Hachijou is known for her high Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capabilities, making her a crucial character against submarines in the game. She also serves as the flagship of the 104th squadron. Hachijou's character design is done by UGUME, and her voice actress is Takao Kanon. She has a lively personality, claiming to be from Sasebo and to have fought in the northern seas. She is confident in her abilities, but also expresses regret for being unable to counter planes. Hachijou's remodeled form is Hachijou Kai, which enhances her stats and unlocks new equipment. She has special equipment bonuses and can perform special preemptive anti-submarine attacks. Like other coastal defense ships, she cannot equip engines, and therefore cannot increase her speed.
