Suzunami

Suzunami (涼波) is a destroyer ship girl in the game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん, also known as KanColle), based on the Imperial Japanese Navy's Yuugumo-class destroyer, the 10th ship of the same name. In the game, she is portrayed as a cheerful and somewhat tomboyish character, calling herself "Suzu". She directly addresses her sister ships by shortened names like "Fuji" (藤) for Fujinami, "Haya" (早) for Hayanami, and "Tama" (玉) for Tamanami. Suzunami is recognizable by her greenish-blue hair, tied into a half-updo with a Seigaiha patterned ribbon with white polka dots, and the depth charges she carries in her left hand. She is known for being a Yuugumo-class destroyer from the Uraka Dock, having slightly more prominent chest armor. In gameplay, Suzunami is a mid-to-high firepower destroyer with low initial luck. Her voice lines and hourly announcements often mention her belonging to the 2nd Torpedo Squadron and Rabaul, hinting at her short history and her sinking in Rabaul. She has multiple limited edition graphics, such as the swimsuit mode and the Valentine's Day mode. She has a close relationship with other members of the 32nd Destroyer Division such as Fujinami, Hayanami, Tamanami, and later Hamanami. Suzunami was implemented in May 2021 and was a popular addition at the time.
