Maryland

Maryland (メリーランド) is a Kanmusu character in the game *Kantai Collection* (艦隊これくしょん -艦これ-, also known as KanColle), based on the US Navy's second Colorado-class battleship, USS Maryland (BB-46). In the game, she is depicted as a blonde, blue-eyed young woman with a well-endowed yet petite figure, similar to her sister ship Colorado. She wears a grey-blue dress with blue accents, a white sleeveless shirt, a blue necktie with her hull number (46), black gloves, thigh-high stockings, and high-heeled shoes. Her rigging is similar to Colorado's, featuring four twin 406mm main gun mounts, two 127mm secondary mounts, a smokestack, and a cage mast. After her remodel, she replaces the range clock on her mast with an SK radar. In *Kantai Collection*, Maryland is portrayed as a somewhat tsundere character, occasionally showing impatience towards the Admiral, but secretly caring for him. Her hourly time signals show her competitive yet affectionate relationship with her sister Colorado. Maryland was one of the 'Big Seven' battleships and participated in important World War II battles such as Tarawa, Saipan, and Leyte Gulf. She is also the reward for clearing the E-5 map of the Spring 2022 event.
