Langley

In Kantai Collection (KanColle), Langley (ラングレー) refers to two different ships. One is the original aircraft carrier CV-1 Langley, which was originally a collier and later converted into an aircraft carrier, primarily used for trials and training. The other is the light aircraft carrier CVL-27 Langley, the sixth ship of the Independence-class, named after astronomer and inventor Samuel P. Langley. In the game, CVL-27 Langley is depicted as a lively and cheerful character who often uses English phrases. She prides herself on her light cruiser base and high-speed performance, while also emphasizing her participation in the battles with the Yamato, Operation Magic Carpet, and her later service in the French Navy. In the game, she is equipped with a weapon resembling a Winchester M1897 shotgun and has initial anti-submarine capabilities. Langley's character design and voice lines are full of unique characteristics, making her stand out among the many ship girls. Players can acquire her through in-game events and strengthen her through leveling and remodeling.
