Souya

Souya (そうや) is a character in the card-based web browser game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん -艦これ-), developed by Kadokawa Games, and its derivative works. Her prototype is the Japanese icebreaker "Souya," which served as a special service ship during World War II. In the game, Souya appears as a Kanmusu (Fleet Girl) with various forms, including Souya Special Service Ship, Souya Lighthouse Supply, and Souya Antarctic Observation. She can be remodeled and equipped with specific Northern Equipment to enhance her abilities. Souya's background story is rich, with multiple identity transformations from merchant ship to special service ship, then to lighthouse supply ship and Antarctic observation ship. She participated in numerous battles, including the Battle of Midway and the Guadalcanal Campaign. Furthermore, she has undertaken several Antarctic exploration missions as an Antarctic observation ship. In the game, Souya's lines reflect her experiences as a multi-functional vessel and her respect for history. She is a versatile character, capable of both combat and logistical duties, and an integral part of "Kantai Collection."
