Phoenix (フェニックス), is a character in the game *Kantai Collection* (艦隊これくしょん -艦これ-, KanColle), a fleet girl based on the US Navy's Brooklyn-class light cruiser, USS Phoenix (CL-46). In the game, she is known for her cheerful and outgoing personality, often speaking in a colloquial manner. What sets Phoenix apart is that she is the first ship girl to be implemented in the game with her form after being purchased and renamed by another nation post-war. She can be remodeled into the Argentine Navy's ARA General Belgrano, a ship that was sunk during the Falklands War. Phoenix's design features fiery red hair, wearing a US Navy uniform, and her rigging is designed to resemble a phoenix spreading its wings, representing her namesake. She has a fondness for Japanese cuisine, praising the admiral's cooking and expressing complex emotions regarding modern warfare, particularly submarines and torpedoes. Phoenix is a relatively rare ship girl in the game, obtainable through event map drops or special construction.
