Hayate

Hayate (ハヤテ) is a major character in the Dead or Alive (デッドオアアライブ) series. He is the eighteenth master of the Mugen Tenshin Ninja Clan, the eldest son of Shiden and Ayame, Kasumi's older brother, Ayane's older half-brother, and Honoka's cousin. Hayate is also a friend and ally of Ryu Hayabusa. Although he was first mentioned in the original Dead or Alive in 1996, Hayate made his official debut as "Ein" in Dead or Alive 2 (1999), an amnesiac karateka. After regaining his memories in Dead or Alive 2, Hayate officially appeared as himself in Dead or Alive 3 (2001) as a main character and has become one of the main protagonists ever since. In the story, Hayate was kidnapped and experimented on by DOATEC, suffering amnesia after being gravely injured, later recovering his memories through fights with other characters. Hayate is known for his powerful ninjutsu and agility, and is an important ninja character in the game.
