Upamon

Upamon (ウパモン) is an In-Training Amphibian Digimon from the Digimon franchise. It has ear-like gills on both sides of its head, allowing it to live both on land and in water, although it seems to prefer land. Upamon has a carefree and naive personality, often being bullied by other Digimon, but frequently mistaking it as play. Its special move is "Shock Shout", where it releases an ultrasonic shout to make opponents flinch. Upamon typically digivolves from Tsubumon and can evolve into Armadillomon. It has appeared in various Digimon anime and games, notably as the partner Digimon of Iori Hida in Digimon Adventure 02. It also features in later series like Digimon Adventure tri. and Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. Upamon's design is based on a young axolotl and its name is derived from the Japanese word for "wooper looper", which is used as a pet name for the axolotl.
