XV-mon (Black), also known as エクスブイモン（黒）, is a subspecies Digimon from the Digimon franchise. It is a virus-attribute Mythical Dragon Digimon, known for its ability to manipulate azure lightning to pierce evil. The design of XV-mon (Black) is inspired by the X-shaped mark on XV-mon's chest and the yellow V-shaped mark on its forehead. The name “XV” originates from these marks, while “mon” is short for monster. This Digimon debuted in the card game in September 2002. It has a black body, a white chest and jaw, and a yellow V-shaped mark on its head. It possesses immense destructive power, utilizing skills such as “X-Laser” and “Hearty Shatter.” In terms of evolution, it can evolve from Flamon, Mushmon, or Veemon, and can digivolve to Orochimon. Unlike the standard XV-mon, the black variant has not appeared in any anime, manga, or video games, and primarily exists within the trading card game. While its appearance is similar to XV-mon, its virus attribute and darker colors give it a more mysterious appearance.
