Shakamon

Shakamon (シャカモン) is an Ultimate-level Digimon in the Digimon franchise, rumored to be the being closest to King Drasil in the Digital World, protecting the eastern Digital World since ancient times. It is a being replete with love, but it will occasionally impose an ordeal upon the Digital World to encourage further progress. These ordeals are said to be born out of Shakamon's love, and it is waiting for the arrival of the Digimon that will overcome them. Shakamon possesses vast power and knows the principles of heaven and earth, making any fight against it futile; opponents would only be trapped in its illusions, eventually exhausting themselves. Its skills include 'Satori Henro Shou' which makes enemies realize the meaninglessness of conflict, 'Reikou Kumo no Ito' which purifies evil, and 'Taijou Shingon' which repels enemies with a shout. Shakamon's design is inspired by Buddhism, with the sixteen orbs possibly representing the Sixteen Arhats, and 'Reikou Kumo no Ito' drawing from Ryunosuke Akutagawa's short story, 'The Spider's Thread'.
