Bakumon

Bakumon (バクモン) is a fictional creature from the Digimon franchise, first appearing in Digimon Pendulum 3. It is based on the Baku, a mythical Japanese creature that consumes dreams. Bakumon has mammalian features, resembling a tapir or baby elephant rather than a synthetic being. It is classified as a Holy Beast Digimon and possesses a Holy Ring on its forelimbs, which allows it to remove viruses. Its special attack, “Nightmare Syndrome,” can induce fear in opponents and is shared by Digitama Mon from Digimon Adventure 02. Bakumon has appeared in various Digimon series. For example, it worked as a waiter in a ramen shop in Chinatown in Digimon Adventure 02; in Digimon Frontier, it was corrupted by Cherubimon and turned from a benevolent dream-eater into an evil nightmare-maker; and in Digimon Adventure tri., it is the partner Digimon of Maki Himekawa. Additionally, it appears in other works such as Digimon Ghost Game, as an assistant to Bokomon.
