Sean Matsuda (ショーン・マツダ, Shōn Matsuda) is a character from the Street Fighter series, first appearing in Street Fighter III: New Generation. He is a confident amateur martial artist from Brazil who idolizes Ken Masters, eventually becoming his disciple, and the younger brother of Laura Matsuda. Sean is eager to prove himself as a strong fighter and hates being referred to as weak. He often cites Dan Hibiki as an example of weakness. Heavily influenced by Ken, many of Sean's moves are similar to Ken's, but due to his inexperience, his skills are not as powerful. Nevertheless, he continues to train persistently, aspiring to one day surpass his mentor. In the Street Fighter III series, Sean wears a yellow gi similar to Ken and Ryu and sports black dreadlocks. In Street Fighter V, he sports a modern outfit that includes a yellow hoodie, track pants, and his signature red boxing gloves. Sean is part of the Matsuda family, which includes his sister Laura and his brother Fabio. The family originated from Japan but later relocated to Brazil. Sean is an energetic and ambitious fighter whose goal is to become the world's strongest warrior and eventually earn Ken's recognition.
