Cody Travers

Cody Travers (コーディー・トラバース) is a video game character who debuted in the beat 'em up series *Final Fight* before appearing as a playable fighter in the *Street Fighter* series. He was initially a reckless vigilante fighting to survive in the slums of Metro City, enduring hardship and even imprisonment for his “good deeds” and trumped-up charges. He has since become the city's new mayor. Cody is portrayed in *Final Fight* as a combative, reckless but ultimately positive and good-natured man with a strong sense of justice and love for his girlfriend, Jessica. However, in *Street Fighter*, after breaking up with Jessica, losing touch with his friends, and spending years in prison, Cody becomes aloof, apathetic, and doubtful. He remains pugnacious, occasionally breaking out of prison just to fight and relieve boredom, often maintaining a dismissive air, unless he finds an opponent that amuses him. In *Street Fighter V*, Cody is pardoned and becomes the mayor of Metro City, where, despite complaining, he secretly enjoys his new role.
