Violent Ken, known as 'Brainwashed Ken' (洗脳されたケン) in Japanese, is a character from the Street Fighter series, first appearing as a sub-boss in SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos, and later joining Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers. This form of Ken is a result of being brainwashed and controlled by M. Bison's Psycho Power. In the story, Ken's jealousy towards Ryu surpassing him made him mentally vulnerable, leading to his brainwashing. Violent Ken's design is inspired by the brainwashed Ken in Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. He is a stark contrast to the regular Ken, craving power and lacking empathy. His appearance features slightly lighter blond hair, darker skin, and purple eyes. In the game, Violent Ken's fighting style is more aggressive, with purple flame Shoryukens, faster speed, and more brutal attacks. He appears not only in multiple games but also in manga and animation. Despite being brainwashed, Ken eventually recovers, but this experience influences his personality and fighting style. His story explores Ken's inner darkness and his desire for power.
