Scorpion

Scorpion is an iconic character in the Mortal Kombat franchise, known for his yellow ninja attire and signature kunai rope dart. He is often depicted as a vengeful undead ninja, whose real name is Hanzo Hasashi. Originally a member of the Shirai Ryu ninja clan, his family and clan were destroyed, and he was killed. He was later resurrected as a specter bent on revenge, especially against who he believed to be his killer, the original Sub-Zero (Bi-Han). However, the storyline later reveals the true culprit as the sorcerer Quan Chi, shifting his target of vengeance. Scorpion is one of the few original characters present since the first Mortal Kombat game and has evolved throughout the series, going from a vengeful villain to a complex anti-hero. His iconic moves include using his kunai to pull enemies closer and utilizing fire-based attacks. Scorpion is highly popular and frequently appears in various media outside the games, including movies, comics, and TV series. Across different timelines, Scorpion's identity and story vary, such as Kuai Liang becoming the new Scorpion in Mortal Kombat 1.
