Mileena

Mileena is a major character in the Mortal Kombat franchise. Initially, she was established as a mutated clone of Kitana, created by Shang Tsung in the Flesh Pits, using a mixture of Edenian and Tarkatan DNA, and one of Shao Kahn's adopted daughters. Mileena often serves as an antagonist throughout the series, known for her brutal nature and skill in combat with twin sai. She harbors a strong jealousy and hatred for Kitana, desiring to supplant her as princess of Edenia. In Mortal Kombat 1, Mileena's backstory is retconned, making her Kitana's biological twin sister and the rightful heir to Edenia, though infected with the Tarkat disease, which causes facial deformities. While her appearance varies across games, her signature Tarkatan mouth and penchant for violence remain consistent. Mileena has also appeared in films, television, and comics, making her one of the most popular and recognizable characters in the series.
