Jataaka

Jataaka is a minor character in the Mortal Kombat series, first appearing in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero. She is a member of the Brotherhood of Shadow and one of the three assassins serving under Quan Chi and Shinnok, along with Sareena and Kia. They each guarded a crystal which, when combined, allowed access to a teleportation device that sent the elder Sub-Zero to Quan Chi's throne room. According to Sareena's story, Jataaka may also be a demon from the Netherrealm, using Quan Chi's magic to sustain her attractive human form. Jataaka fights using a laser sword from which she can fire blue bolts of energy. Despite her fearsome fighting skills, she was ultimately defeated by the elder Sub-Zero. Jataaka reappears in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon's Konquest mode, still serving Quan Chi. Together with Sareena and Kia, they battle Taven in the Red Dragon's lair, but are defeated. In Mortal Kombat 1, Ashrah briefly mentions Jataaka and Kia, stating they were sent to hunt her down but were killed by her. Overall, Jataaka is a formidable antagonist character, and her appearances in the Mortal Kombat series have left a lasting impression on players.
