Earth God

The Earth God is a character that debuted in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero as one of the four guardian gods assigned by Raiden to protect the Amulet of Shinnok in the Temple of Elements. He served as the god of earth within the Mortal Kombat universe. He appears as an immense, slow-moving being made of rock and could be defeated through hand-to-hand combat or by making a chandelier fall on him. Despite being one of the guardians, later stories suggest that the Earth God may have fallen during the divine conflicts. In the Mortal Kombat 4 comic, the younger Sub-Zero attempts to make peace with the temple guardians but finds they are gone, possibly indicating that the Earth God was killed during Shinnok's invasion. Fujin's Mortal Kombat 4 biography screen also states that he and Raiden are among the few surviving Earthrealm gods. Furthermore, an energy creature resembling the Earth God, though differently colored, appears in the Mortal Kombat: Defenders Of Realm episode “Swords of Ilkan”. Overall, the Earth God serves as a protector in the Mortal Kombat universe, but his fate is inconsistent throughout different works and he may even be deceased.
