Blaze

Blaze is a character in the Mortal Kombat series. He first appeared as a background character in Mortal Kombat II, where he was depicted as an elemental being engulfed in flames within the arena “The Pit II”. He made his playable debut as a hidden character in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, and returned as the final boss in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Blaze was created with the purpose of checking the strength of all the combatants in the realms, as their power would eventually threaten existence itself. However, he was captured by a group of holy men serving Onaga and bound to protect the last Great Dragon egg. After being freed, Blaze realized that the power of the fighters had become too great, and thus he gathered them for a final battle. As a fire elemental, Blaze has control over fire, lava, and heat. He can also absorb the power of fighters he defeats, granting the winner god-like power and the ability to grant a wish. In Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Blaze underwent a significant transformation, becoming a hulking humanoid made of burning lava.
