Mokap is a hidden character in the Mortal Kombat series, first appearing in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. He is portrayed as a motion capture actor with extensive knowledge of martial arts and fighting styles. Despite his initial introduction as a joke character, he is considered a legitimate character within the game's canon. Mokap is often inexplicably drawn into conflicts, finding himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. His name, "Mokap," is a shortened version of "Motion Capture," with the "C" replaced by a "K," a tradition in the Mortal Kombat series. The character is a tribute to Carlos Pesina, who played Raiden in Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, and Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Mokap's in-game design lacks unique fighting styles and finishing moves, with some of his moves borrowed from other characters. He is more of an easter egg-style tribute character than a major plot figure, and his appearances in subsequent Mortal Kombat games are rare.
