Original Title:Apep

Languages:

  • Chinese: 艾派普
  • Japanese: アペプ
  • English: Apep
Apep is a minor, non-playable character in Mortal Kombat: Deception. He first appears at the beginning of the game's Konquest Mode, serving as a guide for the protagonist, Shujinko. He is also one of Bo' Rai Cho's students and provides the player with hints. Apep disappears after the village portion of Konquest Mode is completed. In Mortal Kombat X, Apep is mentioned in the "Fallen Friend" premiere tower, revealing he was killed by Quan Chi, and Bo' Rai Cho has to free his soul. In Mortal Kombat 11's Krypt mode, the player controls a character officially referred to as the "Descendant of Apep." Apep is possibly named after Apep, the Egyptian god of chaos. While his role in the series is minor, he has connections to the main storyline, such as his relationship with Bo' Rai Cho and his mentioned fate in later games. Overall, Apep, though not a combatant, adds depth and backstory to the Mortal Kombat universe.
