Daegon is a character in the Mortal Kombat series, debuting in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon as the main antagonist and sub-boss of the game's Konquest mode. He is the son of the Edenian protector god Argus and the prophet Delia, the younger brother of Taven, and the half-brother of Rain. Despite his older appearance, Daegon is younger than Taven. When Delia foresaw Armageddon, Argus had his sons placed into suspended animation, guarded by two dragons, to be awakened to fight Blaze and save the realms. However, Daegon's guardian dragon, Caro, awakened him prematurely, causing him to become corrupted and believe his parents favored his brother. Daegon killed his parents, formed the Red Dragon clan, and sought out Blaze. He used Caro's DNA to create human-dragon hybrids and his ability to open portals. Daegon is a powerful warrior with fire manipulation and dual-wielding swords. In Armageddon, he competes with Taven for the right to confront Blaze, ultimately being defeated by his brother. In some storylines, he even defeats Blaze by cheating, and it is revealed that his parents faked their deaths to test their sons. In Liu Kang's new timeline, he remains the leader of the Red Dragon, continuing his criminal activities. Known for his ruthlessness and power, Daegon is a significant antagonist in the Mortal Kombat franchise.
