Harumi Hasashi

Harumi Hasashi, also known as Kana, is a minor character in the Mortal Kombat franchise. She is the wife of Hanzo Hasashi (Scorpion) and a victim of the Shirai Ryu massacre, along with her son, Satoshi. Harumi's death is a major driving force behind Hanzo’s transformation into the specter Scorpion and his quest for revenge for his clan and family. In the new timeline, she is known as Harumi Shirai and becomes the wife of Kuai Liang (the second Sub-Zero), once again becoming the wife of a 'Scorpion.' While she typically only appears in flashbacks or illusions in the games, her character and backstory are crucial to Scorpion's development. She also appears in other media, such as Mortal Kombat: Legacy and the 2021 film, further expanding her story. Her character and tragic fate have made her an impactful figure in the Mortal Kombat series, even though she isn't often directly involved in combat.
