Geras

Geras is a character in the Mortal Kombat series, first appearing in Mortal Kombat 11. He is not a mortal being but an immortal artificial construct created by the Keeper of Time, Kronika. Under Kronika's control, Geras exists as a fixed point in time, being reborn each time he dies, and becoming stronger and more resilient to his previous cause of death. In Mortal Kombat 11, he serves as Kronika's main enforcer, attempting to achieve her goals by resetting timelines. He possesses the ability to manipulate time and sand, capable of stopping time flow, rewinding time, and even erasing himself or others from time. He can also harden sand into weapons or defenses. Geras also exhibits scholarly traits, having observed events and cultures across countless timelines. In the new timeline created by Liu Kang, Geras is no longer Kronika's brute enforcer but becomes Liu Kang's close friend and serves as the guardian of the Hourglass, ensuring Liu Kang's new era is not undone. He is now the Keeper of Time, possessing immense power and dedicated to preserving the stability of reality.
