Jen Reyland

Geneviere "Jen" Reyland was a character in the television series *Mortal Kombat: Conquest*, portrayed by Jennifer Renton. She was the daughter of Baron Reyland and the girlfriend of Kung Lao. Jen was a beautiful girl who had known Kung Lao and her father's personal bodyguard, Siro, for many years. Her father, Baron Reyland, strongly opposed her relationship with the Temple Warrior, Kung Lao, claiming Jen was his "property" and could only be taken by a wealthy man. It was later revealed that the Baron was in debt to the Black Dragon and needed to marry his daughter off to a rich man to repay it. Jen was deeply in love with Kung Lao and defied her father's wishes, even attempting to elope with him. She helped free Taja and together they rescued Kung Lao from execution. However, she was captured by her father's henchmen and used as bait to lure Kung Lao. During a fight, Jen was mortally wounded by Scorpion (who was possessing Takeda) and ultimately died in Kung Lao's arms. Before her death, she entrusted Kung Lao with the key to her house and trading post as her final request. In the episode "Unholy Alliance", Shang Tsung and Quan Chi created an illusion of Jen to torment Kung Lao. Additionally, in an alternate timeline, due to Liu Kang’s training of Kung Lao, Jen died of natural causes instead of being killed by the possessed Takeda. Overall, Jen Reyland is a tragic character within the *Mortal Kombat* universe, whose story is interwoven with love, family, and sacrifice.
