Tomas

Tomas is a mysterious character from the Mortal Kombat universe, primarily known for his appearance in the live-action TV series *Mortal Kombat: Conquest*. In the show, Tomas presents himself as a skilled martial artist, trained by a master and tasked to find Kung Lao, the legendary Earthrealm champion. He believes that joining forces with Kung Lao would create an unstoppable force against Outworld's menace. However, Tomas's journey takes a tragic turn when he is framed for murder by Shao Kahn and ultimately killed by Reptile. Although Tomas has not been featured in any of the core *Mortal Kombat* video games, he left a notable impression in the *Mortal Kombat* lore. In *Conquest*, he was portrayed as a promising warrior, who becomes a victim of power struggles and deception. Despite his short appearance, Tomas' story reflects the fragility of characters and the cunningness of antagonists in the world of *Mortal Kombat*. It is important to note that “Smoke’s” real name is also Tomas Vrbada. This character is a Lin Kuei assassin who first appeared as a hidden character in *Mortal Kombat II*. He was originally human, but later became a cyborg. In the new timeline, he has returned to human form and uses smoke magic. Although both characters are called Tomas, their backgrounds and stories are distinct.
