Zara

Zara is a non-canon character in the Mortal Kombat franchise, first appearing in the animated series *Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm*. She is an Amazonian warrior who once ruled her own realm. However, her home dimension was conquered by Shao Kahn's forces and incorporated into Outworld. Zara then formed an alliance with Princess Kitana and Ramath, the Keeper of the Crystal Realm, to rebel against Shao Kahn. However, she betrayed her comrades to gain the Swords of Ilkan, resulting in Ramath's death and her own banishment. For years, Zara sought the Swords of Ilkan, losing many of her warriors in the process. She is obsessed with gaining absolute power and harbors deep animosity towards Kitana. In a fight against Kitana and her Earthrealm comrades, Zara was defeated and banished to the Void. While not a character in the games, Zara's storyline in the animated series and her thirst for power add an interesting element to the Mortal Kombat universe.
