Samurai Spirits! 2

Samurai Shodown! 2 (Japanese title: Samurai Spirits! 2 / サムライスピリッツ! 2) is a fighting game developed by SNK for the Neo Geo Pocket Color in 1999. It is a handheld installment in the Samurai Shodown series and features full-color graphics, unlike its predecessor on the monochrome Neo Geo Pocket. The game is based on Samurai Shodown 64: Warriors Rage, retaining most of its story events, endings, and cutscenes. It includes most characters from Samurai Shodown 64: Warriors Rage, with the exception of Hanma Yagyu, and adds Charlotte and Jubei Yagyu, who were absent in the arcade version. The gameplay retains the Slash and Bust modes, along with most moves, while simplifying CD combos. To compensate for the handheld's limitations in versus play, a 'Collection' mode was included, featuring virtual cards to trade with other players. The game was later ported to the Nintendo Switch, first as a pre-order bonus for Samurai Shodown (2019), and later included in Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1. Samurai Shodown! 2 is well-regarded by fans for its faithfulness to the arcade version and its quality as a handheld fighting game.
