Samurai Shodown VI, known in Japan as Samurai Spirits: Tenkaichi Kenkakuden (サムライスピリッツ 天下一剣客伝), is a fighting game developed by Yuki Enterprise and released by SNK Playmore in 2005. It is the tenth installment in the Samurai Shodown series, and the sixth in the main two-dimensional series. The game brings together almost all playable characters from the Samurai Shodown series, introducing new characters and a "Spirit" system, where players can choose different "Spirits" to experience various fighting styles. The game's story is set in a parallel world during an unknown year, where General Yoshitora organizes a worldwide tournament to determine the strongest warrior. Originally released on the Atomiswave arcade system, it was later ported to home consoles such as PS2, PSP, and Wii. Known for its massive character roster, unique "Spirit" system, and beautiful visuals, it's a significant title in the Samurai Shodown series. The game also features festival-themed backgrounds from around the world, giving each battle a unique atmosphere. While the game improved visually, it toned down blood and violence compared to its predecessor due to sponsor censorship.
