Shizumaru Hisame

Shizumaru Hisame is one of the main characters in the Samurai Shodown series. He debuted as the protagonist in Samurai Shodown III and continues to appear in subsequent titles. Shizumaru is an amnesiac orphan who has lost his past and name, thus naming himself after the sword he carries. Regarded as a "demon child," he lives alone from a young age. To uncover the truth of his origins, he embarks on a journey and battles a demon named Zankuro. Shizumaru's fighting style is unique, blending swordsmanship with the use of an umbrella, which can be used for defense and reflecting projectiles. His moves also incorporate rain and mist motifs. In the games, he is known as a well-rounded, technical character with high potential, stemming from his unique "Crazy Downpour" (Kyourakuzan/KRZ) skill, which requires holding an attack button to charge for massive damage. Moreover, Shizumaru has an important relationship with Haohmaru in the story, who is his mentor, teaching him the philosophy of the sword. His story revolves around how he faces his inner "demon" and ultimately makes peace with his past.
