Gaira Caffeine (花諷院骸羅) is a character in the *Samurai Shodown* series, first appearing in *Samurai Shodown III*. He is known for his immense strength and unique fighting style. In the Korean language setting, his name is changed to Kim Ung Che, who later appears as a separate character in *Samurai Shodown VI* as Gaira's "BUST" version. The two characters are nearly identical in appearance and gameplay, with the only difference being that Kim Ung Che has a full head of hair, while Gaira is bald or has a shaved head. Gaira is the nephew of Nicotine Caffeine and a monk in training. While he enjoys parties and adventure, he is internally hesitant about his responsibilities to the Buddhist faith. His fighting style primarily involves using giant prayer beads and his fists, making him a powerful close-range fighter capable of suppressing or dizzying his opponents.
Kim Ung Che is an extra character in the *Samurai Shodown* series, based on Gaira's Korean name. He first appeared in the Korean version of *Samurai Shodown III*. He is similar in appearance to Gaira, except he has a full head of hair. Kim Ung Che is also a wandering priest and a former pupil of Nicotine. He fights similarly to Gaira, but his personality seems to be less concerned about status, although he lacks compassion for the land and its people. In the ending of *Samurai Shodown*, he becomes fed up with Japan and goes to India, humorously considering cutting off his hair.
