Oboro

Oboro is an unplayable boss character in Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage, voiced by Toshiya Ueda. Despite his kind demeanor, he was once a ninja on par with Hanzo Hattori. Forced to leave his clan after being defeated by Hanzo, Oboro became hateful and learned dark magic, gathering several cursed weapons. He devoted himself to Jigen Taishi, an earthly Buddha, who "protects" Ritenkyo. He spent twenty years plotting to overthrow the shogunate and establish a warrior state. He created the "Three Blades of Domination" and trained an army of amazons. Oboro sought to fulfill his benefactor's will and create a new nation for the martial deity, while also avenging his defeat by Hanzo. He was eventually killed by Haohmaru. Oboro is an anarchist who despises the shogunate and the current state of Japan, obsessed with revenge against Hanzo. His smiles are a facade, hiding a bloodthirsty and sadistic nature. He wields a cursed blade and a magic sword controlled by spirits created through the "Magical Arts of Kakkyo," featuring stylistic eyes and designs similar to those on Deku & Dekuina's and Asura's weapons.
