Haito Kanakura

Haito Kanakura, also known as 七坐灰人, is a character who appears exclusively in Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage. He is not a traditional character from the Samurai Shodown series but was introduced in this title. Fans believe he was modeled after Haiji Mibu from Fallen Angels and Yashiro Nanakase from The King of Fighters, though developers have not commented on these similarities. Haito is voiced by Tomohiro Nishimura. In the game, he is a freelance bodyguard and assassin who operates around Ritenkyo's brothels. He experienced prejudice during his childhood due to the color of his skin and hair, leading to a morbid obsession with the color red. In battle, he uses special drug pills made by Hyakuji, a pharmacist from Zegengai. These pills increase his strength and cause him to cough blood as a side effect, which he takes delight in as it proves his blood is red. In the story, after his partner, Yaci, leaves the crime syndicate, he is told to go to a 'free land to the East', but he wants to settle his hatred for Tohma first. In his ending, he seems to die from the side effects of the drugs. Haito has a foul mouth and is indifferent to society and order, preferring to draw his blade and be done with people.
