Saya

In the *Samurai Shodown* series, there are two characters named "Saya". One is a character introduced in *Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage*. Her name is Saya (サヤ, also written as 沙耶), and her real name is Sasha (サシャ). She is a foreigner from an unknown country, trained by her stepmother in Ritenkyo as an assassin. She joins the "Atom Rebels," a faction seeking independence from the Bakufu government and the Razor Trio's iron rule. She aims to avenge her family's death. Personality-wise, she's an outgoing and flirtatious woman who sees the others in her village as family. Despite her flighty demeanor, she takes her missions seriously and does not give up easily. In combat, she is a close-range combo-oriented character with low damage output but high speed, able to keep opponents at bay with fast projectiles. The other Saya is a villain in *The Goddamn Samurai*. She was originally one of several Taimanins investigating the Tokyo Kingdom before being captured and transformed into a super soldier by Oboro's clone. Serving the clone, she assists in mentally breaking Asagi and Sakura to turn them into living weapons. The experiments dramatically altered her personality; though she appears cute, she's a depraved rapist.
